The website only processes the data technically required to deliver it; it uses no analytics and no advertising.
1. Controller

2. Server log files
When you visit the website, the hosting provider IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, automatically processes: IP address, date and time, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page (referrer). The purpose is to deliver the website and keep it secure; the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable and secure operation). Log files are deleted after 7 days. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.
3. Contact by email
If you write to me, I process your message and contact details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). I delete them once your request has been dealt with and no retention obligation applies.
4. Links to other services
The website links to external services such as the App Store or YouTube. You only leave the website when you click such a link; the respective providers are responsible for any processing there.
5. Language cookie
The website is bilingual. To keep the language you chose (German or English) on your next visit, the language plugin Polylang sets the cookie pll_language. It only contains the language code (e.g. “en”), no personal data; it is not used for analytics or advertising and is not passed on to third parties. The cookie is deleted after one year; you can remove it in your browser at any time. The legal basis is Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary for the service you requested) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the website in your language).
6. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Please contact the email address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live or the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Düsseldorf.

Privacy Policy for the Vigo Studio app
Vigo Studio stores your projects on your device; I do not receive any of your data, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking services. Data only leaves your device for the features listed below, which you choose to use.
1. Controller

2. Data on your device
Videos, photos, audio, scripts, projects and settings are kept in the app’s storage on your device. The app only asks for the access a feature needs: camera and microphone to record, photos to select and save, speech recognition for subtitles and the teleprompter, local network for Vigo Multicam and the teleprompter display. You can revoke any access in the iOS settings.
3. Sync via iCloud
If you turn on iCloud sync, the app stores projects and media in your private iCloud space at Apple. I have no access to it. iCloud is provided by Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland, under Apple’s privacy policy. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (use of the feature you chose).
4. Nearby devices (Vigo Multicam, teleprompter)
Vigo Multicam and the teleprompter display connect your own devices directly over the local network. Recordings, previews and script text travel only from device to device, not through a server.
5. Speech recognition and translation
For subtitles, dictation and the voice-controlled teleprompter, the app uses Apple’s speech recognition. Depending on the device and language, Apple processes the audio on the device or on its own servers, under Apple’s privacy policy. Subtitle translations are made by the iOS translation feature.
6. Vigo Post (Apple Intelligence)
Vigo Post writes texts for social networks with Apple Intelligence, on your device or via Apple’s Private Cloud Compute. There, subtitles and notes are processed only to answer the request and, according to Apple, are not stored and cannot be seen by anyone, including Apple. The app publishes nothing; you copy the texts yourself.
7. Auphonic (audio processing)
If you have a project processed by Auphonic, the app uploads the project’s audio to your own account at Auphonic GmbH, Graz, Austria, and downloads the result. This only happens when you explicitly start it. Auphonic’s privacy policy and your account settings govern what Auphonic does with the files and how long they are kept. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
To sign in to Auphonic, Auphonic passes a one-time sign-in code to a small function I run on Amazon Web Services (region Frankfurt am Main). It exchanges the code for the access key and immediately returns it to the app without storing it. The key is then kept only in your device’s keychain. A data processing agreement is in place with Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, Luxembourg.
8. Vigo Mask (model download)
For the precise mode of Vigo Mask, the app downloads an image model once from Hugging Face, Inc., USA. As with any download, your IP address is transmitted; no images or projects are sent. The model then runs on your device.
9. Purchases
Apple handles the purchase of Vigo Studio Pro through the App Store. I receive no payment or account data, only confirmation that the purchase is valid.
10. Sharing and links
You share projects, videos and images through the iOS share sheet with recipients and services of your choice. Links in the app (support, YouTube, Instagram) open in the browser outside the app.
11. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. As I store no data from the app, you delete your data by deleting projects or the app; data at Apple or Auphonic is managed in your account there. Questions: hello@vigo-studio.app.
